Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu (RCKK) had its 66th Installation Banquet on Saturday 1 July, 2017 at the Kimanis Ballroom Hyatt Hotel. District Governor Datuk Lee Chuen Wan and First Lady Datuk Naomi Chong graced the occasion as the Guests of Honour.
Rotarian Dr Ravi Mandalam was installed as the 66th President of the Club. The Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu was chartered as Rotary Club of Jesselton on 24th Nov 1952.
President Jeyan Marimuttu, the outgoing President in his address elaborated on the enormous strides made by the Club and the running projects that were strengthened as well as new ones introduced during his tenure, such as the Bird Guide Training Program, the Sepulot Balaron Holistic Project, RCKK Lectures, Cure Cataract Campaign and several others.
President Dr Ravi, in his inaugural address briefly outlined the projects that would be undertaken and continued during his tenure. Guest of Honour, District Governor Datuk Lee traced his own association with RCKK as an Interact Club member in All Saint’s school back in the 1960s. DG spoke on the various achievements of Rotary and its role in assisting the underprivileged and weaker sections of the society.
The Installation Banquet was attended by 250 people – Rotarians, spouses, Guests, Interactors, Teacher Advisers, Friends of Rotary and the media.
