Message from The Convener

Dear all Rotary members, family of Rotary and friends,

A warm welcome to the 32nd Pan Borneo Inter-Club Meet, Rotary District 3310 to be held during 25-27 November 2022 at the Hilton Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.

The Pan Borneo Meet has a long history dating back to 1984, gathering Rotary members from Borneo: Brunei, Sabah, Sarawak, Labuan FT. We also have delegates from Johor, Melaka and Singapore, all connected together in one city.

The 27 Rotary Clubs in Pan Borneo will come together to jointly undertake a service project in the areas of Empowering Girls, and Community Economic Development: to provide reusable diaper packs to low-income families, and mothers with babies & toddlers in Sarawak, as well as to provide a reasonable income for home sewists from urban and rural areas to sew the diaper packs.

This presents an excellent opportunity for Rotary members, spouses and friends to meet to foster fellowship, forge friendships, exchange ideas, moot ways of better serving our communities, and pool our time, talent and treasure to carry out joint projects to benefit the public.

The world today is not the same as it was when Rotary began in 1905. Demographics have shifted, the pace of change has accelerated, and technology has created new opportunities for connection and service. What has not changed is a need for the values that define Rotary: fellowship, integrity, diversity, service, and leadership.

We are People of Action, effective problem-solvers, and we invest in relationships. We know how to mobilize our networks to create solutions that last, and we are always learning from our experiences. Let us seek out new ways to translate our expertise into making a difference. Our capacity to make a difference is larger when more people unite with us. Let us build connections and opportunities that will allow people who share our drive to do the same.

My heartfelt thanks to the organising committee led by Organizing Chair Immediate Past President Andrea Chan, for their dedication and great efforts to make this Pan Borneo Meet happen. I would also like to extend my appreciation to all delegates from near and far, for supporting this event and making this a great success.
