Message from The District Governor

Rajamohan Munisamy
District Governor 2020-21
Rotary International District 3310

Dear fellow Rotarians, Spouses, and Friends,

Welcome to the 30th District Conference 2021! This year’s District Conference will be held from 21 May to 23 May 2021.

The District Conference is an important annual event in the District calendar. As the COVID-19 pandemic does not seem to be waning anytime soon, we have decided to carry out the District Conference fully virtual on all 3 days. This will be the very first time our District Conference will be run virtually.

RY 2020-2021 has been a challenging year for all of us. Yet we have grown in remarkable ways and it is time to celebrate the successful culmination of a year-long hive of club and district activities, service projects, and Foundation giving. Fellowship is the foundation of Rotary Clubs and the District Conference is an excellent opportunity for networking and engagement without borders across a broad spectrum of Rotarians from different clubs.

Holding a virtual event is challenging as we have to restrict each day to a maximum of two hours in order to receive maximum attention. The programs have to be concise, and we have to choose the most suitable speakers and proceedings in the programs allotted. These have been carefully curated by the Organising Committee to ensure an enticing event for all attendees. The Rotary and District Awards will be the highlight of the Conference on 23 May 2021.

Due to the closure of international borders, we will not be having the Rotary International President Representative in attendance, and the Council of Governor’s Chairman PDG Chew Ghim Bok will grace the virtual event as the Guest of Honour.

This District Conference will be hosted by the Rotary Club of Pandan Valley, Singapore. The Organising Chair, PE Patrick Cheo and his committee have taken all possible care and due diligence to provide an amazing and memorable experience for all participants.

Let us finish this Rotary Year by showing our full support for the finale event. I hope to see you (virtually) before I finish my term as your District Governor.
