NEW ROTARY CLUB

District 3310 is pleased to announce that Rotary International has approved the formation of the Rotary Club of Kampong Gelam on 12th April 2019. The Club now has 25 Charter Members registered with Rotary International. Any subsequent members who join them before 30th June 2019 will be considered by the Club as Founding Members. The ceremony to formally induct the 25 Charter Members and the remaining Founding Members (currently numbering 30) will be carried out on 27th July 2019 at their Charter Lunch. COMMUNITY SERVICE
1. Project REAL
RC of Kota Kinabalu Pearl carried out the Project Real (Rural Focus – English For All) – SK Pandan Mandamai Pitas, Sabah.



2. RIPPLE MATTRESSES
RC Sarikei donated ripple mattresses to Sarikei Hospital.


INTERNATIONAL SERVICE PROJECTS

Project in Bhutan
President Dr Julian Ong undertook a trip to Bemji Primary School in Trongsa district, Bhutan, to complete a humanitarian project on behalf of Rotary Club of Changi. Working with MAD (Make A Difference) Bhutan, funds were raised earlier which were used to repair broken windows and provide new bedding and mattresses for their 61 boarding students.



VOCATIONAL SERVICE

RC of Bandar Seri Begawan presented awards to the Best Teachers in 2019 as well a bursary awards to 2019 Best Students.


FUND-RAISING EVENTS

1. Rotary Charity Run 2019
RC of Kuching Central organised a Rotary Charity Run 2019/ This event took place on Sunday 7 April 2019 and received news coverage. The assembly point was at CityONE Megamall.



2. End Polio Walk
RC Pontian held a End Polio Walk on the morning of 13 April 2019 at the Pontian Seafront to raise funds for End Polio.
